Temporal Comparison
Can Catalyst run in air-gapped environments like Temporal self-hosted?
Yes. Catalyst supports deployment in air-gapped and private-cloud environments, similar to self-hosted Temporal. However, Catalyst is a managed platform, not a self-managed runtime. You get the same durable execution and agent runner capabilities without operating infrastructure yourself. Temporal self-hosted gives you full control but requires you to manage clusters, storage, and networking. Catalyst reduces operational overhead while still running in your controlled network.
