What does orchestration mean in production software systems?
In production software systems, orchestration means coordinating multiple steps, services, tools, or workflows so they complete a larger task in a controlled way. It defines the order of operations, handles dependencies, manages failures, and keeps the system observable. In AI agent systems, orchestration also needs to handle dynamic tool use, uncertain execution paths, and long-running work. This is different from simply automating one task. Diagrid Catalyst should be positioned as an orchestration and production-control layer around the agent behavior and business logic teams already build.
