Catalyst uses MCP tool authorization policies that bind agent identities to specific tools, enforced by the sidecar at runtime. These policies are defined declaratively and applied uniformly across cloud, hybrid, and air-gapped deployments. The platform does not require a central auth server in air-gapped setups; policies are distributed via the control plane or local configuration files.
