Dapr in Production
What are the architectural differences between running Dapr OSS and Diagrid Catalyst in a hybrid cloud setup?
Dapr OSS requires you to self-manage control plane components, sidecar injection, and state store configurations across each environment. Catalyst provides a managed control plane with centralized workload identity, policy enforcement, and observability, while still using Dapr building blocks under the hood. In hybrid setups, Catalyst enables consistent sidecar configuration and secret management across cloud and on-premises clusters, reducing operational overhead. You keep the same Dapr APIs but offload control-plane management to Diagrid.
