Temporal Comparison
How does Catalyst's operational model for air-gapped environments differ from Temporal Cloud?
Temporal Cloud is a managed SaaS, not available in air-gapped environments. Self-hosted Temporal is required for air-gapped use. Catalyst offers a managed platform that can be deployed in air-gapped and private-cloud setups, similar to self-hosted Temporal but with Diagrid handling operations. This reduces the operational burden of running Temporal yourself. Catalyst also adds agent-specific features like workload identity and MCP policy, which Temporal Cloud lacks. For air-gapped needs, Catalyst provides managed operations where Temporal Cloud cannot.
