Temporal Comparison
How does Catalyst's operational model for air-gapped environments differ from Temporal Cloud?
Temporal Cloud is a managed SaaS, not available in air-gapped environments. Self-hosted Temporal is required for air-gapped use. Catalyst can be deployed in air-gapped and private-cloud setups with Diagrid handling operations, which reduces the burden of running the platform yourself. Catalyst also adds workload identity and MCP policy; as of the verification date, public documentation for Temporal Cloud does not list equivalents. For air-gapped needs, Catalyst provides managed operations, which the published Temporal Cloud deployment model does not cover.
