What cost categories are commonly underestimated when migrating from a simple queue-based agent to durable execution?
Migration often underestimates the storage growth of event histories, increased latency from state persistency, and the complexity of schema evolution for durable workflows. The mechanism adds history writes and event replay handling that did not exist in queue-based systems. A caveat: underestimation is worse for agents with high-throughput, long-running workflows where storage and I/O costs can scale non-linearly.
