Dapr Ops Dashboard Is Now Free for the Dapr Community

Production-grade Dapr operations, observability, guidance, and multi-cluster management are now available at no cost.

Running Dapr in production should not mean building your own operations layer around it.

That is why we are announcing that the Dapr Ops Dashboard is free for the Dapr community.

Every capability that was previously part of the paid product is now available at no cost, including multi-cluster management, automated Dapr upgrades, best-practice advisories, observability metrics, notification alerts, automated certificate rotation, and more. There is no credit card required and no trial period.

Dapr is open source. We think the tools that make Dapr easier to run in production should be available to the community too.

Installing Dapr is the easy part

Dapr gives developers a set of APIs for building distributed applications without having to solve common problems such as service invocation, pub/sub messaging, state management, durable workflows, and secrets access from scratch.

But once Dapr moves into production on Kubernetes, a different set of problems shows up.

Teams need to keep Dapr versions current. They need to watch runtime health, understand errors and latency, rotate certificates, check configuration, find dependencies, and manage Dapr across multiple Kubernetes clusters.

Many teams end up handling this with scripts, custom Grafana dashboards, Kubernetes tools, and a lot of knowledge. As Dapr usage grows, so does the work required to monitor it, keep it updated, and manage it across clusters.

Dapr Ops Dashboard was built to remove that work.

One place to operate Dapr

Dapr Ops Dashboard, formerly known as Conductor, gives teams a single place to install, upgrade, observe, and manage Dapr across Kubernetes environments. A lightweight agent connects each cluster to the Diagrid Cloud, and teams can manage the Dapr control plane and applications from the web console, CLI, or with a Kubernetes operator without changing their application code.

• Manage certificates. Automate mTLS certificate issuance and rotation without taking applications offline.
• Work with the tools you already use. Export metrics to Grafana and use the Metrics API with your existing observability stack.

Built from years of running Dapr in production

Dapr Ops Dashboard is not just another Kubernetes dashboard.

It is built around Dapr itself.

Why make it free?

Last month, we gave developers a free Developer Dashboard. The response was so strong that we decided to do the same for operators managing Dapr deployments.

Open source makes Dapr accessible to anyone. But accessibility should not stop once an application reaches production.

Teams should not have to choose between paying for better Dapr operations or building that tooling themselves. They should be able to spend their time building applications instead of maintaining scripts, dashboards, and custom operational processes.

Making Dapr Ops Dashboard free removes that barrier.

It also gives the Dapr community a common set of tools for running Dapr in production, while giving Diagrid another way to keep investing in the project and the people using it.
